San Carlos Centennial Celebrations 2025: The Committee In Charge

Last January 17, 2024, marked the inception of the San Carlos Centennial Advisory Committee’s journey towards organizing the grand events and celebrations for the City of San Carlos’s 100th anniversary in 2025. The mood was set with the mantra, “San Carlos – let’s have fun 🙂,” reflecting the enthusiasm that filled the 2nd Floor of the San Carlos Library.

The Committee and Its Dynamic Members
The City Centennial Advisory Committee is a diverse assembly, comprising individuals from various San Carlos organizations. The responsibility of orchestrating the monumental 100th-anniversary celebrations for the city has been entrusted to this spirited group, demonstrating the significance of commencing the planning a year in advance.

The Energetic Meeting Kick-Off
The meeting commenced with warm greetings and introductions, creating an atmosphere where longtime residents shared stories of their two to three decades in San Carlos. To ensure everyone was aligned, a brief orientation was provided by the City Clerk.

Paula Ebejer-Moffitt, owner of Prima Printing and representative of Chamber San Mateo County, was elected as the Committee’s Chair. Sufiya Kaul, representing the Youth Advisory Council, assumed the role of Vice Chair. With this leadership duo, the Committee dived into discussions about their goals, sparking excitement about planning what could potentially be the most significant celebration in San Carlos’s history.

Mark Your Calendars for the Next Public Meeting
The City Centennial Advisory Committee is gearing up for a year-long centennial celebration in 2025. The next public meeting is scheduled for February 21, 2024, at 6:00 PM, and will also be held at the San Carlos Library Community Room on the second floor.
